I'm Magdalena Malinová, a 26-year-old dancer and performance maker whose artistic journey revolves around essence of intimacy, and touch. I seek joy in engaging all the senses to create immersive, evocative moments.
My work thrives on the energy of collaborative and multicultural environments. Currently based in Prague, I seize every opportunity to travel, connecting with new cultures and environments that enrich my practice.
My recent internship as an Assistant to the curatorial team at VIERNULVIER Cultural Centre in Ghent, Belgium, was a unique experience, I am also proud to collaborate with Nitish Jain and his company, Studio MoreThanThat, which specializes in intimate, multi-sensory performances, particularly within the realm of one-to-one theatre. Our work invites audiences to engage with art in ways that transcend the visual, fostering a deeper connection through touch, taste, smell, and sound.
In my personal landscape, I find solace and strength in the realms of hospitality and food, seeing them as powerful counterpoints to consumerism. I'm passionate about cultivating care, togetherness, and slowness—values that I believe are essential tools for resilience in today's fast-paced world.
Dance is more than a passion for me; it's a lens through which I view and interpret life. My recent exploration into the Israeli GAGA movement language has been particularly transformative, offering a profound remedy that guides my navigation through everyday life. This movement language has reshaped my approach to gaze, allowing me to materialize reality in ways that are both deeply personal and universally resonant.
