I'm Magdalena Malinová, a performer, dancer, and researcher from Czechia. Alongside my artistic work, I often collaborate as an event manager and have extensive experience as both a film actress and film production manager.

 My artistic work focuses on intimate and participatory formats using touch and the senses. As a dancer interested in somatic practices, I explore the body as a sensory and imaginative tool for relating to what resists language – the unknown, the irrational, the emotional. Through subtle gestures and small-scale situations, I investigate how care, togetherness, and slowness can be cultivated as forms of resilience in times of constant acceleration.

I love to work around hospitality, culinary practices, and everyday rituals – seeing the richness and depth of the world in the smallest acts we often overlook. My biggest life philosophy is sourdough baking, with its temporality and tactility – the matter of waiting, patience, and love which we need to seek in any activity that comes across our path as a sense of expectant joy.

What have been my recent career joys of the past year?

I was part of the In the Field scholarship program at the Wiener Festwochen Festival in Vienna – an inspiring experience of witnessing exceptional projects and meeting remarkable artists.

I took part as culinary support in the Lacuna Kitchen Project (Afra Tafri Creations) at the renowned Oerol Festival in the Netherlands.

I had the joy of showcasing the performance Spider Turtle We directed by Ran Jiao within the Performing Exiles program at Berliner Festspiele.

I continued my research on Touch and Anonymity in collaboration with Nitish Jain and his Studio More Than That during The Post Genre Residency in Bremen.

Earlier, in spring 2024, I interned as assistant to the curatorial team at VIERNULVIER Cultural Centre in Ghent, Belgium – a deeply formative experience that continues to inform my curatorial and artistic practice.
